ABOUT ME

Kara Payne is the wife of the Reverend Marcus R. Payne, Pastor of Saint Paul AME Church in the Chaires Community.

 

She's the mother of one son, Marcus Payne II, aka Deuce, and Dog Mom to their English Bulldog, Major Payne.

 

Since graduating from Florida State University in 2011 with a degree in Media Communications, Kara's journey has taken many turns. Still, she has always used her passion for people and writing in her many God-ordained endeavors. She obtained her Master’s in Public Administration in 2020 from the University of West Florida. 

 

Kara is the CEO and Founder of the EnLIGHTened First Lady, LLC, helping leading women share their stories and provide inspiration and encouragement through content creation and communication services. Her blog, of the same name, details her life as a millennial Pastor’s wife and first-time mom.

 

She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the Coordinator for the Tallahassee District Ministers Spouse Alliance, a Mentor for Leon County Schools, and the Communications Chair for the Florida State University National Black Alumni.
